When the solar power generation system is connected to the utility grid and provides the excess power back to the supplier(KSEBL) is termed as an ON-Grid system. The energy supplied back is also compensated in the form of yearly payments. This is the most preferred energy solution.
When the solar power generation system is used for charging a battery setup and using it whenever needed is termed as an OFF-Grid system. In OFF-Grid system you are not connected in anyway to your utility grid. This is appealing to many because of it's self-sufficiency.

•ETC (Evacuated Tube Collector system)
•FPC (Flat Plate Collector system)
ETC systems quickly heat water than FPC systems. They can supply hot water throughout the year. They perform better in colder and cloudier atmospheric conditions. FPC systems are mostly preferred when specific conditions are required.
